BACOLOD City – A state-of-the-art cold storage facility, which is one of the biggest cold amenities in the province, was inaugurated in the Municipality of Murcia, Negros Occidental on July 1, 2023.
Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Murcia Mayor Gerry Rojas, Vice Mayor Johnny Reosura, Czark Mak Group of Companies chairman & president Caesar Wongchuking, Czark Mak Group EVP Caesar Angelo Wongchuking Jr., former senator Franklin Drilon, and Gov. Dax Cua of the Province of Quirino led the inauguration of the Sapporo Cold Storage Facility located in Brgy. Blumentritt, Murcia.
Lacson said that the local development will be of great help to the cold chain service needs, not just of Murcia, but of its nearby cities and municipalities.
He said that the presence of your cold storage, with its modern refrigerated warehousing and storage facilities, will not only create local job opportunities but also enhance the capabilities and productivity of the local farmers, aid in the avoidance of food wastage, supplement the seven abattoirs within the province, and support food security.
The governor thanked Sapporo Ice and Cold Storage Co., Inc. for investing in the province, as Negros Occidental has a longstanding tradition of producing high-quality crops and livestock.
“I would like to assure you that the provincial government is committed to creating a business-friendly environment, that encourages investment and supports the growth of companies like yours,” he added.
