Close to PHP1 million in shabu seized in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — Three individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation that yielded 140 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 952,000 in Purok Bolinao, Barangay 1 here on Sunday.

Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested “Koykoy,” 28; “James,” 18; and “Mark,” 23, all residents of the said village.

Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU head, said the operation was carried out after receiving information about Koykoy’s alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in the area.

A casing and surveillance operation were immediately conducted, leading to the execution of the buy-bust operation against Koykoy and his two alleged cohorts.

Koykoy was tagged as a high-value individual, while his two companions were considered street-level individuals.

The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) underscored its commitment to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs while maintaining peace and order across the region.
