ROXAS CITY, Capiz— There is an ongoing clinical trial of a China-made vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in a hospital here.
Dr. Abundio Balgos, chief executive officer (CEO) and president of Health Centrum Hospital (HCH) in Brgy. Banica, Roxas City, said the hospital is currently catering to 500 persons to be vaccinated with the undisclosed brand of vaccine.
Balgos said 35,000 doses of the vaccines are being distributed around the world for the clinical trials, which is the first to happen in the province of Capiz.
Balgos clarified that all kinds of medicines undergo clinical trials.
Each recipient of the clinical trial will receive P2,500 as incentive.
The vaccinated persons will undergo strict monitoring for a year to determine the efficacy of the vaccine.
The clinical trial started middle of September this year.
