BACOLOD City – Classes at Rafael B. Lacson Memorial High School in Barangay Zone 12, Talisay City, Negros Occidental were suspended on Tuesday after a junior high school student was caught with a hand grenade inside the school premises.
Policemen arrested Bronson Lucas Lacson, 21, of Barangay Zone 6.
Lieutenant Abegael Donasco, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said they responded to a report of a pedicab driver regarding a student who allegedly attempted to hit him with an explosive following a misunderstanding.
When police went to the school to confirm the report, they recovered from Lacson a hand grenade kept in his underwear, while suspected marijuana worth P120 and a tooter were also recovered from his pocket, Donasco said.

With the said incident, she said that students were advised to vacate the classrooms while authorities checked the area for other possible threats.
Donasco said that charges for grave threat, illegal possession of explosives, and illegal possession of dangerous drugs will be filed against the suspect who is detained at the police station.
