Starting Oct 15, 2020, Iloilo City government will implement the “No QR Code, No Entry” policy at the Iloilo City Hall for efficient contact tracing of COVID-19 patients.
In a memorandum issued on Tuesday, Mayor Jerry Treñas said the Iloilo City government is currently on the soft implementation of the QR code scanning system for all employees and officials of the City Hall.
“As part of the contact tracing system, city government employees have been issued with their frontliners’ identification cards with QR codes,” he said in the memorandum order.
With the full implementation of the QR system next week, employees and officials will be required to present their QR codes upon entering and leaving the premises of the Iloilo City Hall.
Offices shall designate at least two gatekeepers who will take charge of scanning the QR codes through their phones.
“All offices should have internet connectivity accessible to the gatekeepers assigned to scan QR codes. Offices with no internet connection are instructed to procure their own routers and/or necessary equipment,” the order said.
On Wednesday, the Project Management Team turned over the modules to all the departments in the City Hall for the QR code system.
Recently, the Iloilo City Government has partnered with Ilonggo IT experts for the development of a mobile application to fasten the contact tracing efforts of the city.
By October 29, all transacting public will be required to register and secure their own QR codes before entering the City Hall. (ERS)
