BACOLOD City – The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-6 conducted another buy-bust operation that led to the arrest of a casual employee of the city government.
Mary Nessa Ong, 40, a street sweeper from Barangay 22 here yielded 100 grams of suspected shabu worth P680,000 during the operation at Barangay Taculing yesterday.
According to the RPDEU, Ong is on its list of top 10 priority high-value individuals (HVIs).
She was arrested for a drug offense in 2016 and was released two years later through plea-bargaining, the RPDEU reported.
Police also recovered from her the P30,000 marked money, P1,100, three cellular phones, a pouch, and other non-illegal drug items.
Ong did not comment on the allegation against her. She is detained at Police Station 6.
This is the second biggest drug haul of RPDEU-6 this week, following the first operation in Victorias City, Negros Occidental which resulted in the apprehension of a couple and confiscation of P1.3 million worth of suspected shabu, a firearm, and ammunition in Barangay III on Oct. 25.
