IVISAN, Capiz — The Ivisan Municipal Police Station, in coordination with other law enforcement units, arrested a church caretaker tagged as a street-level drug suspect during a buy-bust operation late Friday afternoon, April 10, at a housing site in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Ivisan, Capiz.
The operation led to the arrest of alias Jon, 45, of the said place for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Confiscated during the operation were about 1 gram of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of PHP 6,800, along with one caliber .45 pistol and ammunition.
The joint operation was carried out by personnel from the Capiz Provincial Police Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Cluster Special Drug Enforcement Team, composed of the Ivisan Municipal Police Station as lead unit, Sigma Municipal Police Station, and Mambusao Municipal Police Station, under the leadership of Police Capt. Rile Villariez Jr., Ivisan police chief.
The suspect is under police custody and will face appropriate charges in accordance with the law.
