Known to be one of the most vocal PBA stars, Chris Ross took his sentiments to Twitter regarding the league’s plan of going back to practice.
The veteran San Miguel Beermen guard was quick to question the league’s decision of letting their players practice in their respective facilities as the start of their reset plan.
“Risking personal and family safety so that we can train now for games that won’t start until September? What’s the rush?” Ross tweeted.
Commissioner Willie Marcial and the PBA board recently passed a letter to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases asking if they can start practicing after Metro Manila slid to the more-relaxed General Community Quarantine (GCQ).
Commissioner Marcial said that he respects Ross’s comments and it will be up to him if he will join SMB practices. He also added that it will be up to the SMB management to decide what to do with players if they refuse to join.
“Pero yung management na ang kakausap sa iyo kung paano ang gagawin. Kung ayaw nilang maglaro, ayaw nilang mag-practice, ok sa akin. Pero kausapin nila yung management. Ang management ng teams ang magde-desisyon sa kanila, hindi ako,” said Marcial.
Meanwhile, Ross explained that he trusts Marcial and the decision-making of the PBA board and will decide what’s best for the league.
“No advancement scientifically for the virus. I wanna play ball and get back to work as bad as anyone out there, but at what risk,” added Ross.
