Chooks-to-Go gives out free meals to stranded OFWs

The Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI) support to the country amid the COVID-19 pandemic just keeps on pouring.

With Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) getting stranded outside Ninoy Aquino International Airport, one of the primary anchors to PH’s basketball programs dished out free meals while waiting for flights to their respective destinations.

The Chooks-to-Go staff distributed food packs and drinks to around 200 passengers who are still waiting for the resumption of flights after the government’s decision of canceling sea and air travels as part of the country’s safety protocols to combat the pandemic.

“Most of them are from my birthplace in Mindanao, and as OFWs, they are our modern-day heroes sacrificing to work in foreign lands, so we can enjoy prosperity in our country,” said BAVI president Ronald Mascariñas.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, BAVI has donated food packs and drink supplies to different hospitals.

Also, BAVI offered help to Manila Zoo by donating chicken to ease the zoo’s declining food supply.

The Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (CESAFI), which announced the cancelation of their season this 2020 due to the pandemic, received dressed chickens from BAVI that covered all personnel including all the participating schools, referees, and table officials.

“It is our utmost responsibility as a Filipino-owned company, to help out our modern day heroes in whatever way we can, especially a day before the country will celebrate our 122nd Independence Day. Just like our national heroes before, they too are sacrificing a lot for our country,” added Mascariñas.
