The young and star-studded squad of the Choco Mucho Flying Titans are back in the Premier Volleyball League and took down PDLT in four sets, 28-26, 10-25, 27-25, 25-11.
PLDT had to withstand Choco Mucho’s formidable frontline of Maddie Madayag, Bea De Leon, and Kat Tolentino as they took control of the game with their tremendous blocking.
Despite the presence of PLDT’s veteran scorers in Isa Molde, Jorelle Singh, and Chin Basas, the Flying Titans still found a way to contain them as Madayag and De Leon’s length became a huge problem.
PLDT looked to grab the momentum after clinching the second set but the resilient and young Choco Mucho team continued to punish them and capitalize on their errors.
Tolentino’s 18 points off 17 spikes and De Leon’s 15 attacks were too much for PLDT who just didn’t have answers for the 1-2 punch.
Setter Deanna Wong played a remarkable debut for the Flying Titans as she perfectly set up 26 attacks and also had 13 digs and four points.
“Sobrang excited namin nung Sunday pa gusto na namin mag laro siguro inano lang ni Lord para maging safe pero yun nga we’re really excited now it’s our first game, marami pang dapat ayusin,” Choco Mucho head coach Oliver Almadro said.
