The Choco Mucho Flying Titans cooled down the rolling Galeries Tower after blanking them in straight sets, 25-13, 25-19, 25-17, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on April 2, 2024, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.
With the win, the Flying Titans not only secured a much-needed win to boost their chances of clinching the top spot but they also stopped the two-game winning streak of the Galeries.
Too much to handle for the young Galeries squad, the Flying Titans kicked off the duel with cruel intentions as they bullied them with their lightning-quick outside attacks.
From their back row plays to their cross-court 1-2 set combinations, Choco Mucho was firing from all cylinders to immediately take an early 1-0 lead.
Despite quick adjustments from Galeries in the next set defensively, the Flying Titans countered back midway through the frame and banked on their solid floor coverage to widen their gap.
Sisi Rondina continued her fiery outing for the Flying Titans after spearheading their second-set barrage. The high-flying spiker capped off her stellar game with 16 big points built from 15 successful attacks.
Backstopping Rondina was veteran middle blocker Cherry Nunag who contributed 12 points, one of her best offensive performances of the season so far.
Aside from the 1-2 punch, the Flying Titans also received a load of offense from their supporting cast as Isa Molde chipped in nine points and Royse Tubino with seven markers.
“Masaya ako sa naging performance namin. Sobrang thankful ako kasi lahat ng ipinasok ko na player nag-deliver naman,” said Choco Mucho head coach Dante Alinsunurin.
