CHMSU Grad Places 10th in October 2024 FTLE

BACOLOD CITY – Isabela Therese Dedel did not expect to pass, let alone rank, in this year’s Fisheries Technologists Licensure Exam (FTLE).

“However, I kept a positive mindset,” said Dedel, who garnered an 89% rating, placing her 10th in the October 2024 FTLE.

She is among the 40 new fisheries technologists from Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU).

Of the 63 first-time takers from CHMSU, 38 passed, while two repeat takers also passed, giving the university a 61.54% passing rate.

A Class of 2024 Bachelor of Science in Fisheries graduate from CHMSU Binalbagan Campus, Dedel said that, aside from diligently reviewing her notes, she and her fellow exam takers closely observed fisheries professionals in the field to prepare for the exam.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced that 1,005 out of 1,509 passed the FTLE.

Dedel, a resident of Brgy. Mansilingan in Bacolod City, also congratulated her fellow passers.

“I am thankful to my family, friends, and God for being there with me throughout my journey. I am also most grateful for the incredible support of the CHMSU College of Fisheries faculty.”

CHMSU College of Fisheries Dean Imee Perante congratulated all the passers and encouraged those who did not pass to use the setback as motivation when retaking the exam next year.
