BACOLOD City – The Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) of Negros Occidental assured consumers that there is enough supply of dressed chicken and eggs despite the recent eruption of Taal volcano in Batangas.
PVO head Dr. Renante Decena said there is no shortage of chickens as the province is producing its own supply. He pointed out Negros Occidental is even the supplier of chickens to provinces in Panay.
As for eggs, Decena said the province gets its supply from Bantayan Island in Cebu.
He added that they have not monitored any price increase of eggs in the local markets.
The Calabarzon region, where Taal is located, is the second largest producer of poultry and hogs in the country.
