The Cherry Tiggo Pro Crossovers just dominated the Cignal HD Spikers and swept them in three straight sets, 25-16, 25-13, 25-19, in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.
Jaja Santiago once again took charge and was an unstoppable force for the Pro Crossovers after contributing 15 points in the win and spearheaded a momentum-swinging 13-3 run in the last set.
The HD Spikers looked to fight back in the last set after volleyball superstar Rachel Daquis caught fire but was held off once again by Cherry Tiggo’s tremendous middle blocking.
“First of all, we just want to thank God that we’re still healthy and strong despite the adjustments that we have to do. Second, definitely we still have to work on a lot of things,” said Chery Tiggo head coach Aaron Velez.
Arriane Luyag backstopped Santiago with her 15 points and was having a good time penetrating through Cignal’s defense.
Meanwhile, Cignal’s offensive star Daquis was only held to just six points while Janine Marciano top-scored their club with 12 points.
“We played quite sluggish but still, I’m happy that the players were able to execute what they’re expected to execute,” coach Velez added.
