Educators and administrators from 37 higher education institutions across Western Visayas and the Negros Island Region described the recent “Creating the Creatives: Global Pathways Seminar-Workshop” as “excellent,” “informative,” “timely,” and “worth repeating.”
For many participants, the event was more than just a seminar—it became a collaborative space where imagination, policy, and purpose converged.
Held on October 27–28, 2025, at the Park Inn by Radisson Iloilo, the two-day activity was organized by the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office VI in partnership with the Iloilo State University of Fisheries Science and Technology.
ISUFST served as the prime discussant and facilitator for the seminar-workshop, which aimed to help HEIs build and institutionalize Creative Works Offices and frameworks that position creativity as a pillar of academic excellence.
Participants gave overwhelmingly positive feedback, commending the workshop’s engaging format and meaningful content.
Many described the sessions as “well-organized, practical, and inspiring”—the kind of training that continues to resonate long after it ends.
“The subject is highly pertinent and opportune,” one participant noted.
Another shared that the workshop was “beneficial in establishing our university’s creative work office.”
Others emphasized how the discussions “stimulated ideas on policy integration and inter-campus collaboration.”
While praising the event’s structure, several participants suggested longer sessions and more time for hands-on workshops.
They also underscored the need for follow-up dialogues focused on innovation, documentation, and inter-institutional networking.
Attendees described the event as both “inspiring” and “motivating,” noting its relevance beyond the traditional confines of the arts.
Many said the sessions underscored how creativity can drive innovation in research, governance, and community engagement.
In the end, participants echoed a shared call to sustain what CHED and ISUFST have initiated—a collaborative movement to embed creativity as an essential force in Philippine higher education.
