The beatdown almost came to a point where it wasn’t a game anymore; it was already becoming a pickup game in the blacktop park.
On Jan. 11, 2026, the Charlotte Hornets recorded the most dominant win by any team in the ongoing 2025–2026 NBA regular season after annihilating the Utah Jazz by 55 points, 150–95.
The recent demolition exhibition outscored the Oklahoma City Thunder’s 49-point win over the Phoenix Suns, 138–89, last Dec. 11, 2025.
Fresh off a nail-biting two-point loss against the Indiana Pacers, the Hornets responded with a sense of urgency, venting their ire on the rolling Utah squad on the road in Salt Lake City.
Nine players hit the double-digit scoring mark for Charlotte, led by explosive guard Tre Mann, who top-scored for the team with 20 points built from an efficient 7-of-10 shooting from the field.
However, it was the starting unit who set the tone for the runaway show, as the quartet of LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Josh Green, and Ryan Kalkbrenner steered the Hornets to an early 45–14 advantage in the opening quarter.
Demoralizing, shocking, and painful to watch, the 18,186 loyal Utah fans who flocked to the Delta Center caught an early zip and were dead silent as they witnessed how the Hornets rained down on their team for 12 straight minutes.
Unfortunately, that opening frame startled the Jazz for the next 36 minutes, as they failed to rekindle the spark they had when they outdueled the Dallas Mavericks in their last outing.
Charlotte just stomped their way through the next three quarters, even ballooning their largest lead of the ball game to as much as 57 points in the second half.
Without anything going on for the Jazz, an early bench overhaul took place as their starters headed to the bench due to the impossible come-from-behind attempt.
Miller was the catalyst during Charlotte’s first-quarter rampage, as the versatile forward dropped trey after trey en route to an 18-point performance in just 21 minutes of action.
The steady skipper also delivered an all-around effort of four rebounds, four assists, and three steals, backstopped by Ball and Green, who chipped in 17 and 13 markers, respectively.
Holding the fort for the bench mob who joined hands with Mann was the ever-reliable Collin Sexton, who added 15 points, five boards, and four dimes.
Charlotte will look to pick up where they left off on Jan. 13, 2026, as they face James Harden and the Los Angeles Clippers, while Utah aims to bounce back from the embarrassing loss on the same date against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
