The Institute of Aquaculture, College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences (CFOS-IA) hosted a lecture on BIOSIPEC shrimp nursery technology on July 19, 2022.
Held at the CFOS AV Hall, UPV Miagao campus, the lecture was presented by Mr. Tran Coung Huynh, Regional Technical Manager of the Asia Pacific Ocialis Aquaculture Feeds.
Huynh shared his experiences on BIOSIPEC, an efficient and innovative approach for sustainable shrimp production using cutting-edge technologies for feeding to improve growth, water treatment to improve biosecurity and prevent the spread of diseases, and aeration systems to minimize energy costs.

The approach can maximize the profitability of shrimp farmers while minimizing environmental effects and farming risks, Huynh added.
BIOSIPEC was first developed in Vietnam by ADM, a global leader in human and animal nutrition, for Vannamei shrimp farming. The hybrid lecture was co-organized by the UPV Graduate Students in Fisheries Association. (Lenilyn B. Gallos/CFOS)
