Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, was awarded Bronze in the Diversity and Inclusion category at the 2025 Economic Times Human Capital Awards, becoming the only Southeast Asian airline honored this year.
The recognition highlights the airline’s sustained efforts in building a people-first workplace culture grounded in equity and inclusivity, aligning with ETHCA’s mission to spotlight organizations with exemplary human resource practices.
“Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to how we lead and grow,” said Felix Lopez, Cebu Pacific’s chief human resources officer.
“This accolade reinforces our belief that empowering our people enhances the way we serve our passengers and communities,” Lopez added.
CEB has emerged as a pioneer of progressive D&I policies in Philippine aviation, introducing groundbreaking practices such as employing openly transgender cabin crew, hiring female pilots, and extending travel and health benefits to common-law and same-sex partners of employees.
A cornerstone of these initiatives is the incluCEB Space campaign, which aims to foster psychological safety and build an inclusive culture throughout the company.
The program is supported by the Juan CEB Community, an employee-led group behind initiatives like EmpowHER for women in non-traditional roles, Rainbow Routes for LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and Sky Parents for solo parents.
CEB also mandates diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) training for all leaders and new employees as part of its onboarding and leadership programs.
In partnership with The Vanguard Academy, the airline has also created a three-year internship program aimed at providing neurodiverse individuals with meaningful work experience, reflecting its commitment to inclusive hiring practices for persons with disabilities.
Cebu Pacific’s broader workplace excellence has earned regional and international acclaim.
In 2024, it became the first Southeast Asian airline certified as a Great Place to Work® and was named one of the best employers for recent graduates by Prosple, an education and careers platform.
Operating flights to 37 domestic and 26 international destinations across Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, Cebu Pacific continues to expand its network while championing diversity, inclusion, and sustainability at all levels.
