Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), the Philippines’ leading carrier, has expanded its widebody fleet with the delivery of its 13th Airbus A330neo aircraft, strengthening operational resilience and reinforcing its position as the largest A330neo operator in Asia.
The 459-seat aircraft arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport from Airbus’ facility in Toulouse, France, and is the third of four A330neos scheduled for delivery this year.
The first two aircraft arrived on March 28 and July 18, respectively.
“Being the largest A330neo operator in Asia reflects our strong commitment to enhancing connectivity across the region,” Cebu Pacific President and Chief Commercial Officer Xander Lao said.
“This aircraft enables us to serve more passengers while keeping costs low, which is a key part of our mission to offer affordable fares for every Juan.”
Beginning in November, Cebu Pacific will deploy its A330neo fleet on additional domestic routes.
Starting Nov. 2, the 459-seat widebody will operate four times weekly between Manila and Puerto Princesa, while daily A330neo flights between Manila and Bohol will begin on Nov. 16.
The A330neo provides Cebu Pacific with added flexibility to serve regional and long-haul routes, as well as high-demand sectors.
With increased range and capacity, the aircraft allows the airline to optimize operations while maintaining cost efficiency.
Airbus’ NEO family represents the latest generation of aircraft, designed to burn 15% less fuel per flight and produce less noise than previous-generation models.
The reduction in fuel consumption results in lower carbon emissions, supporting the airline’s sustainability efforts.
