BACOLOD CITY – Three men were arrested and PHP816,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized in a buy-bust operation in Purok Lampirong, Barangay 2 here shortly after midnight Friday.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) identified the suspects as “Dion,” 21, of Barangay Banago; “Mich,” 32, of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental; and “Stan,” 27, of Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Police said Dion is classified as a high-value individual, while Mich and Stan are considered street-level individuals.
Seized from the suspects were nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 120 grams and PHP1,000 in marked money.
In a statement, Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, director of the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), said they will continue to intensify intelligence-driven operations, strengthen interagency cooperation, and maintain pressure on those involved in the illegal drug trade.
He commended the operating unit for its swift and coordinated action, saying the regional police remain committed to dismantling drug networks and delivering justice to communities affected by illegal drugs.
