BACOLOD CITY—A 52-year-old resident of Barangay 4 was arrested Thursday in a buy-bust operation that yielded PHP374,000 worth of suspected shabu.
Operatives from the City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the suspect, identified by the alias “Niknik,” and confiscated 55 grams of the illegal substance.
Police Lt. Col. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU chief, said the suspect was tagged as a high-value individual, though not listed in the barangay’s drug watchlist.
Legada said the suspect allegedly began engaging in illegal drug activities in 2024.
He added that the operation was launched after receiving complaints from community members and barangay officials.
Drug charges for the sale and possession of dangerous drugs were filed against the suspect on Friday.
This is the suspect’s first arrest for a drug offense, Legada said.
