BACOLOD CITY — A 24-year-old man was arrested by authorities after they seized 210 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 1,428,000 in Purok Paraiso, Barangay Banago, here on Wednesday.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested the suspect, identified only by the alias “Boss,” a resident of the barangay, after he allegedly sold shabu worth PHP 1,000 to a police poseur-buyer in a buy-bust operation.
Police tagged the suspect as a high-value individual, although he was not included on the Barangay Drug Abuse Council list, the CDEU said.
The operation was launched after weeks of monitoring as part of the Bacolod City Police Office’s crackdown on alleged big-time drug personalities in the city.
While the BCPO leads the regional evaluation in the number of anti-illegal drug operations and drug seizures, Police Col. Eugene Rebadomia, officer-in-charge of the city police office, said authorities would continue pursuing major operations against illegal drug peddlers.
The suspect is being held at Police Station 3 pending the filing of drug charges.
