Cauayan to establish two Animal Bite Centers

BACOLOD City – Mayor John Rey Tabujara of Cauayan, Negros Occidental said on June 26,2019 that the local government will establish two Animal Bite Centers.

Tabujara said the bite centers are among his priority programs in her fresh term.

Then vice mayor, Tabujara assumed as mayor after his father Jerry Tabujara succumbed to a lingering illness in 2016. He won his reelection bid on May 13, 2019.

Tabujara said the LGU has allocated P1.5 million for the bite centers which seeks to address rampant incidents of animal bites in the town.

The mayor added that the first anti-human rabies injection is free but patients have to pay for the succeeding three injections which costs P1,800 each.

The animal bite centers to be established at the Cauayan District Hospital and the Municipal Health Office will be exclusive for Cauayan residents.

Tabujara said he observed that their town mates usually go to Kabankalan City for anti-rabies injections and he intends to solve the problem with the proposed bite centers.
