An argument between an engineer and his subordinate led to a stabbing episode afternoon of Jan 19, 2023 in Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
Luckily, Aron Bryan Ramos, an engineer and manager of a construction company and resident of Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao, only suffered a minor injury.
The suspect, Aljur Aljun Villanueva of Project 1, Barangay Sooc, Arevalo, fled after the incident and remains at large as of this writing.
According to Staff Sergeant Rex Depaloma, Iloilo City Police Station 5 investigator, the incident happened while Villanueva was working on the cabinet door of Ramos’s house.
For some undisclosed reasons, Ramos confronted the suspect.
A heated argument ensued until Villanueva plunged a chisel into the victim’s chest.
Ramos was rushed to The Medical City for treatment. He was immediately discharged after getting treated.
Depaloma said that there were already old grudges between Ramos and Villanueva prior to the incident.
Villanueva was allegedly working on Ramos’s house, which is just adjacent to the firm’s office, for a few months already.
Depaloma said the victim already reported for work but told police that he would decide on the filing of the case after the Dinagyang festival.
