Tokyo Olympics-bound Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo dazzled in the 2021 All-Japan Apparatus Championships held at the Takasaki Arena.
Yulo defied all odds and managed to nab the bronze medal in the parallel bars category of the prestigious tournament.
The 21-year-old sensation joins fellow Tokyo-bound Olympian EJ Obiena who is about to wrap up his training camp as well.
With just one month left before the prestigious sports event kicks off, Yulo had several international gymnastics competitions to join as part of his final preparations for Tokyo.
Yulo managed to register an outstanding score of 14.966 behind gymnastic greats Yusuke Tanaka and Kaito Sugimoto of Japan.
The training camp for the Filipino is almost nearing the one-year mark and is grateful for the support he is receiving from his head coaches.
Out of the 10 Filipinos who already locked in a spot for the Tokyo Olympics, Yulo was the second after sweeping his performances in the past Olympic Qualifying Tournaments.
