Carlo Biado bags Predator WPA Men’s World 10-Ball championship

World-renowned Filipino pool star Carlo Biado is back at the top of the sport after reigning the Predator WPA Men’s World 10-Ball Championship on March 3, 2024, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

With his recent championship campaign, Biado just added another world title to his collection following his twin wins during the 2021 Abu Dhabi 9-Ball Open and the 2021 US Open Pool Championship.

Biado pulled off another majestic display of pool in the US and scored a convincing 3-1 set victory over Naoyuki Oi of Japan during the championship round.

The Filipino pool maestro immediately drew first blood after nabbing the first set, 4-1, but the Japanese prospect refused to back down to level the series at 1-1 with a 4-3 bounce-back win in the following set.

After losing in the second frame, Biado just flipped the switch in the last two sets of the Best-of-Five championship series, sweeping Oi, 4-2, 4-1.

Biado then went home with a grand total prize of $75,000 (around 4.2 million pesos) after a magical campaign in the Predator WPA Men’s World 10-Ball series.

On the other hand, the Japanese challenger managed to collect the $45,000 runner-up prize (around 2.5 million pesos).

Before reaching the grand finals phase, Biado had to escape a tough preliminary phase after getting the best of Justin Sajich of Australia, American star Shane Van Boening, and Lin Wu Ku of Taiwan.

In the quarterfinals, Biado continued his rampage after taking down Ko-Ping Chun of Taiwan and officially clinched a seat to the finals after outlasting Russia’s Fedor Gorst in the semifinals.
