Two individuals were arrested during a police anti-drug operation on the evening of September 16 in Carles, Iloilo.
Alias Pandoy, 46, of Barangay Pani-an, Balasan, and alias Jim, 40, of Barangay Bancal, Carles, were caught in a buy-bust operation conducted at Sitio Camendes, Barangay Bancal.
Officers from the Carles Municipal Police Station apprehended the suspects after recovering 83 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 564,400.
The operation stemmed from a tip by a concerned citizen regarding the suspects’ alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
Major Sonny Boy Garnace, Carles police chief, said Pandoy, identified as a high-value target, was the primary focus of the operation.
Jim, classified as a street-level pusher, was reportedly Pandoy’s subordinate.
Both suspects are now under the custody of the Carles MPS.
They will face charges for violating Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
