F2 LOGISTICS Cargo Movers is a heartbeat away from the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference crown after surviving a late rally by Cignal HD Spikers in their five-set, Game 1 thriller on Saturday.
The Cargo Movers eventually vanquished the tough Cignal squad, 25-22, 26-24, 18-25, 17-25, 15-8.
The HD Spikers were too resilient, led by Ilongga Jovelyn Gonzaga and veteran Rachelle Anne Daquis, who just showed heart, never gave up, and kept fighting till the end.
During the third and fourth sets, the HD Spikers’ blocking and net defense proved to be evident, as they managed to build upon their strong defense to come back into the match.
During the fifth and deciding set, it was the Cargo Movers who doubled up on their net defense, clinching the set to seal the game.
Kalei Mau was too much for Cignal, as she displayed a monstrous 27 points performance, hitting the ball from the backline at will.
After giving up a two-set lead and avoiding a late meltdown in Game 1, F2 Logistics will look to avoid giving up leads in Game 2.
F2 Logistics will try to win Game 2 and notch the title today, at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
