Police identified the victim as Rojohn Allanic, 29, of Barangay Balabag, Dumangas.
Allanic’s younger brother Rojon Kent, 20, survived.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Dumangas Station, the two brothers were sleeping in a rest house adjacent to the main house owned by a certain Regina Weiss at Barangay Sulangan.
Rojon claimed he slept at the living room while his brother was in the bedroom.
He was awakened around 10:50 p.m. as heavy smoke and blaze enveloped the rest house.
