BACOLOD CITY – A 31-year-old farmer died after being attacked by his own carabao in Sitio Manpahong, Barangay Banogbanog, Isabela, Negros Occidental on Friday.
Police Master Sgt. Rocky Tonog of the Isabela Municipal Police Station said the victim, identified only as Ariel, was tending to the animal in a rice field when it suddenly turned aggressive.
Tonog said the victim was caught off guard and was gored by the carabao.
Due to the severity of his injuries, the victim did not survive.
Tonog noted that it was the first time the carabao displayed aggression.
He said extreme heat might have agitated the animal.
The victim’s family is reportedly planning to sell the carabao following the incident.
