ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Governor Fredenil Oto Castro officially opened Capiztahan 2025 on Tuesday morning, April 1.
The event began with a thanksgiving Mass at the Mary Immaculate Conception Metropolitan Cathedral.
It was followed by a flag-raising ceremony and the hoisting of banners representing the province of Capiz, Roxas City and its 16 municipalities.
Gov. Castro was joined by Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas in formally opening the celebration at the provincial capitol grounds.
The weeklong event, which runs from April 1 to 6, 2025, was attended by mayors and local officials from across the province.
This year’s Capiztahan is shorter than the 2024 celebration, which lasted nearly a month.
Despite the reduced duration, several activities have been organized to entertain Capiceños and both local and foreign visitors.
