ROXAS CITY, Capiz—The four-week-long Capiztahan 2024 concluded as a generally peaceful event, according to the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) and its collaborating forces. The festival, which ran from April 11 to May 1, 2024, experienced no significant disruptions, reflecting the effectiveness of the security measures in place.
Police Col. Jerome Afuyog, the provincial director of Capiz, reported no crime-related incidents during the festival, underscoring the success of law enforcement efforts to ensure public safety.
“We are delighted to inform you that no crime-related incidents have been reported during Capiztahan 2024,” Afuyog said.
He noted that the festival drew thousands of attendees from within and outside the region, making security and crowd control a top priority.
The meticulous planning and strategic deployment of police personnel enabled the Philippine National Police (PNP) to maintain a peaceful atmosphere throughout the event.
“The commitment and tireless efforts of our law enforcement officers, coupled with the collaboration of the community, are exemplified by this accomplishment in maintaining peace and order,” he emphasized.
Afuyog expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, including festival organizers, local government units, and the general public, for their support and cooperation.
He affirmed that the PNP remains dedicated to its mandate of serving and protecting the community and will continue to uphold peace and order in the province.
