Authorities from the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) arrested the province’s No. 2 most wanted fugitive for statutory rape in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Maayon, Capiz, at around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 23, 2025.
Alias “Toto,” a 55-year-old farmer from Maayon, was apprehended during the service of a warrant of arrest issued by the 6th Judicial Region, Branch 14, in Roxas City on Dec. 17, 2025. No bail was recommended.
The arrest was carried out by personnel from the Maayon Municipal Police Station, the CPPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and the CPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit.
Police Brig. Gen. Josefino D. Ligan, director of Police Regional Office (PRO) 6, commended all units involved in the operation.
“I commend the dedication and professionalism of our operating units for the successful arrest. This accomplishment reflects the unwavering commitment of our personnel to uphold the rule of law and ensure that justice is served,” Ligan said.
“Let this serve as a strong reminder that the law will eventually catch up with those who choose to evade it, while we assure the public that PRO6 remains steadfast in its mission to keep our communities safe and secure through sustained and focused law enforcement operations,” he added.
The suspect is currently under the custody of the Maayon Municipal Police Station for proper disposition of his case.
