ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The No. 1 most wanted person in Capiz was collared Monday afternoon, Oct. 24, at Barangay Matagnop Dao, Capiz.
Elmer Venus, 47, of said place did not resist when the police served a warrant of arrest against him.
Venus is facing two counts of rape and two counts for violation of RA 7610 or “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act”.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Faustino Roxas Jr. of the Regional Trial Court Branch 14 on Roxas City on Oct. 14, 2022.
The court did not recommended bail for the rape charges, while P200,000 was each for each count of the RA 7610 case. He is presently detained at Dao MPS for proper disposition.
Meanwhile, two wanted persons were arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG)-Capiz and Aklan, and Sapian PNP in a separate operation Monday morning.
Jerry Bautista, 39, and Amor dela Cruz, 29, both of Barangay Agsilab, Sapian, Capiz were collared separately.
Bautista was arrested at Brgy. Camansi, Batan, Aklan and dela Cruz at Brgy. Ondoy Ivisan.
The two are facing charges of frustrated murder where the warrants of arrest were issued by RTC Judge Rommel Lacson Leonor of Mambusao, Capiz.
A bail of P120,000 was recommended to each suspect for their temporary liberty.
On the other hand, the Roxas City Police Station arrested a wanted person in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City, Capiz for alarm and scandal Monday afternoon.
Police identified the suspect as Lyndon Sabay, 38, of Barangay Nalumsan, Carles, Iloilo.
The warrant of arrest was issued by RTC Branch 17 Judge Lorencito Belo Diaz of Roxas City on May 16, 2012.
The suspect was released after posting the P100,000 bail.
