A man wanted for rape was arrested morning of May 2, 2021 in San Joaquin, Iloilo.
The suspect, 38-year-old Albert Aguirre, was working as a caretaker at a house in Purok 1, San Joaquin, where he was arrested.
Aguirre hails from Barangay Gibato, Dumarao, Capiz but is facing charges in Aklan province.
Members of San Joaquin Police Station, together with Dumarao Police Station, arrested the suspect by virtue of an arrest warrant for Criminal Case No 13679.
Lieutenant Dionisio Estacio, San Joaquin police chief, said the Dumarao PNP coordinated with them in serving the arrest warrant issued by Judge Jemena Abellar Arbis of the Regional Trial Court Branch 6 in Kalibo, Aklan, on July 5, 2017.
No bail was set for his temporary freedom.
Estacio said Aguirre moved to San Joaquin as his brother’s wife is from the area.
There was no information provided as to the identity of the complainant.
Aguirre is now detained before he would be turned over to the concerned court.
