Capiz town’s big infras in 2023 completed

TAPAZ, Capiz – Three big infrastructure projects completed in 2023 have benefited the people of Tapaz, Capiz.

This was revealed by Tapaz Municipal Engineer Victorio Jabatan Jeminez in an interview with Daily Guardian on Monday, January 8, 2024.

Jeminez said the three major infrastructure projects were the construction of a Super Health Center in Brgy Salong worth P6.5 million; the construction of a multi-purpose/halfway home in Brgy. Carida worth P1.2 million, and the P1.5-million rehabilitation of the dumpsite in Brgy. Cristina.

Jeminez said that the budget for the Super Health Center came from the national government while the multipurpose/halfway home was funded by the Gender and Development (GAD) program.

The budget for the rehabilitation of the dumpsite came from the 20 percent Development Fund.

Meanwhile, the town is currently constructing several farm-to-market roads in the upland barangays of Tapaz and a daycare center with a perimeter fence.

Jeminez said the budget for the said projects was taken from the 2022 Local Government Support Fund-Support to Barangay Development Program of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (LGSF-SBDP NTF ELCAC).

The ongoing projects are the priorities of Mayor Roberto “Nonong” Palomar since he assumed office in 2016.

Palomar vowed to improve the living conditions of his constituents particularly those who are living in the upland barangays by constructing access roads.

Now on his last term, the mayor is hoping that all the farm-to-market road projects will be finished before his term ends in 2025.
