PRESIDENT ROXAS, Capiz — A woman operations manager of Capiz Sugar Central in Barangay Poblacion, President Roxas, Capiz, was seriously wounded after she was shot by unidentified suspects Wednesday evening, May 13, inside the staff house in the CSC compound.
Police identified the victim as alias Almera, 56, who was temporarily staying at the CSC staff house and is a native of Pampanga province.
Police reports said the incident happened around 8:50 p.m. while the victim was inside the staff house.
The victim stood up to close the window when unidentified suspects suddenly fired their firearms.
Security personnel from CSC immediately responded, but the unknown number of suspects fled in unknown directions.
The security personnel found the victim lying on the floor.
The victim sustained gunshot wounds to the right portion of her ear and was brought to the town’s Rural Health Unit by security guards for treatment.
She was later transferred to Capiz Emmanuel Hospital in Roxas City for further treatment.
Police recovered from the crime scene three empty shells for a .45-caliber pistol, two empty shells and one deformed slug for a 9 mm firearm, and one live bullet for a 12-gauge shotgun.
Meanwhile, police said they have persons of interest in the shooting.
Capt. Joebert Delos Reyes, President Roxas police chief, said they have persons of interest in the shooting that injured alias Almera on Wednesday evening.
He said he could not yet divulge their identities because the investigation is ongoing.
The President Roxas Municipal Police Station is investigating the incident to determine the motive and identify the suspects.
