ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Unidentified suspects stole approximately PHP678,812 worth of gadgets and school items after ransacking Luis Escutin National High School in Brgy. Duyoc, Dao, Capiz.
The incident was discovered on the morning of Thursday, October 3, when a teacher found the senior high classroom in disarray.
Upon checking, several pieces of school equipment and gadgets were missing.
Among the stolen items were 17 laptops, 7 tablets, 6 headsets, 6 computer mice, 4 chargers, and 6 bags. Some items were left untouched by the suspects.
In a related incident, robbers also targeted Maayon National High School in Maayon, Capiz.
School officials discovered on the same day that a TV set, a laptop, and PHP3,000 in cash from the school canteen’s cabinet were missing.
The police are currently investigating both incidents to identify and arrest the suspects.
It is worth noting that several schools in Capiz have been victims of burglaries in recent days.
Capiz Police Director Police Colonel Albert Tapulao, who assumed office last month, vowed to thoroughly investigate the incidents.
