ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The provincial government and schools division of Capiz are preparing for the largest mass oath-taking and promotion of teachers on April 19 at Villarreal Stadium.
A meeting was held Thursday, March 12, with Gov. Fredenil Oto Castro and Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel F. Bermejo of the Department of Education-Schools Division of Capiz regarding preparations for the event.
Around 8,829 participants from various schools division offices across Western Visayas are expected to attend, including those from Capiz, Aklan, Antique, Guimaras, Iloilo, Iloilo City, Passi City, and Roxas City.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is expected to attend the event.
Discussions during the meeting covered preparations for the activities, including traffic management, safety of participants inside the venue, and the deployment of security personnel.
Bermejo also informed the governor about the send-off party for the delegations of the Schools Division Office of Capiz for the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet 2026 on March 14 at Capiz National High School, and the opening ceremony of the WVRAA in Passi City on March 17.
He informed Castro that Capiz is the host province for the Regional Festival of Talents on March 25, where the governor was invited to deliver a message during the opening of the activity.
Present during the meeting were Lucca Vestidas, provincial multimedia operations coordinator of the Provincial Information Office; Janice Zaldarriaga, supervising administrative officer of the Provincial Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office; Macky Talabucon, senior tourism operations officer of the Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office; and Yzarda Claudette Ballera, information officer of the Schools Division Office of Capiz.
