Capiz posts 39 suicide cases in 2019

The Department of Health has established suicide prevention hotlines in the country. For those who need help, they could call 0917-899-8727 (USAP) and 0917-989-8727 (USAP)
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Police here lamented the high incidence of suicide cases in Capiz province.
Based on the data from the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO), 39 suicide cases were recorded from January to December 2019, a 50 percent increase compared to 26 cases in 2018.
Roxas City topped the list with 13 cases, Dumarao with 5, Dao with 4, Dumalag and Tapaz with 3 cases each, Pilar and Pontevedra with 2 each, and one case each in the towns of Ivisan, Jamindan, Mambusao, Maayon and Panitan.
Most of the suicide victims were males aged around 30 years old.
