ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The Capiz Police Provincial Office intensified operations against wanted persons, illegal drugs and other unlawful activities over the weekend, according to its weekly accomplishment report.
The report covered Feb. 3–8, 2027, and said police arrested eight wanted persons, including one tagged as a most wanted individual.
The remaining seven were described as wanted individuals with existing warrants of arrest, the report said.
In anti-illegal drug operations under Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police conducted two operations that led to the arrests of two individuals.
Police said the operations resulted in the recovery of 32.619 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP 221,809.20.
In a separate operation under Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, police arrested one person and recovered an unlicensed firearm, the report said.
Police also said 11 firearms and one explosive device were voluntarily turned over through the Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang program, which encourages the surrender of loose firearms.
In another case, police arrested one person for allegedly selling 220 liters of diesel in violation of Presidential Decree 1865, the report said.
Police also seized 208 board feet of lumber as part of their campaign against illegal logging, according to the report.
Police Col. Albert D. Tapulao, head of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, said the police would continue stepping up operations to maintain peace and order in the province.
Tapulao said the effort is aligned with the Philippine National Police’s service advocacy: “Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.”
