ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The Capiz Police Provincial Office, under the leadership of Provincial Director Col. Albert D. Tapulao, showcased its Tactical Bikers Action Drill through an eight-member SWAT team.
The activity demonstrated the unit’s ability to respond to threats using bicycle-based mobility.
The team moved with speed and control in tight urban spaces and crowded areas where patrol vehicles face limitations.
The drill also highlighted practical tactics suited to current field conditions.
The showcase was held during the blessing and inauguration of the Transient Accommodation for Police Services Multi-Purpose Building of the Capiz Police Provincial Office on April 17, 2026.
The event was led by Capiz 1st District Rep. Howard Andrada Abendan Guintu.
The initiative draws from the bike patrol program of Police Regional Office 6.
Under Brig. Gen. Josefino D. Ligan, regional director, the program promotes bicycle patrols as an adaptive and energy-efficient policing measure while maintaining police visibility in key areas.
Bicycle patrol units offer clear advantages in law enforcement.
Officers can move through narrow streets, reach congested areas and engage the public at close range.
This approach supports faster response and stronger community contact.
In line with this direction, the Tactical Bikers Action Drill reflects the Capiz PPO’s focus on practical and adaptable policing.
It also supports community-oriented policing by keeping officers visible and accessible.
