Capiz police officer killed in Dao road crash

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A police officer was killed after the motorcycle he was riding went out of control and hit a concrete fence Tuesday evening, Aug. 18, in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Dao, Capiz.
The victim was identified as Police Staff Sgt. Francis Dordas, 40, who was assigned to the Dao Municipal Police Station and was a resident of Barangay Nagba, Cuartero, Capiz.
An investigation by the Dao police showed that Dordas was on his way home from the police station at about 9 p.m. aboard his Honda RS 125 motorcycle when he lost control while negotiating a curve and hit the concrete fence of a house beside the national highway.
Bystanders in the area found Dordas lying beside the road with injuries to his head.
Dordas had been at the Dao police station to submit an intelligence-related report before the crash.
He was taken to Sen. Gerry Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao, where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Police are investigating the incident.
