Capiz police arrest 16 wanted persons in weeklong operations

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) arrested 16 wanted persons during operations from Aug. 24 to 30, 2026.

According to the CPPO’s weekly accomplishment report, four were classified as most wanted persons, while 12 were listed as other wanted persons.

The report also recorded four arrests in three operations for alleged violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Police recovered about 68 grams of suspected illegal drugs with a reported standard drug price of PHP 462,200.

One person was arrested for an alleged violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, after police recovered an unlicensed firearm from the suspect.

The law regulates firearm ownership and possession and provides penalties for unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.

About 20 firearms and seven explosive materials were voluntarily surrendered to authorities.

The operations against loose firearms were part of the government’s Tokhang Kontra Armas-Luthang (TKAL) campaign to maintain peace and order in Capiz.

Police also arrested seven fishing crew members during four operations against illegal fishing. Authorities recovered fishing boats and equipment valued at PHP 1,135,500.
