ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police arrested 15 wanted persons in weeklong operations in Capiz.
Based on the weekly accomplishment report of the Capiz Police Provincial Office from June 22 to 28, four of the 15 were classified as most wanted persons, while 11 were listed as other wanted persons.
Police also arrested five people in four anti-illegal drug operations for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Authorities said they recovered about 84 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 572,947.
Four other people were arrested for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police said they recovered four unlicensed firearms, while 25 firearms and two explosives were voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
Police records also showed that two former members of the communist terrorist group returned to the government side and voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
The recovery and surrender of unlicensed firearms were part of the “Tokhang Kontra Armas-Luthang” campaign, which seeks to help maintain peace and order in Capiz.
Police also arrested 14 crew members in four illegal fishing operations that resulted in the confiscation of PHP 1.675 million worth of fishing vessels and paraphernalia.
