ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Police in Capiz arrested 12 wanted persons during a weeklong series of operations from May 25 to 31, 2026.
Based on the Weekly Accomplishment Report of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, 11 of those arrested were classified as other wanted persons, while one was listed as a most wanted person.
The CPPO, under provincial director Police Col. Albert Tapulao Jr., also prioritized its campaign against illegal drugs and loose firearms.
Police said seven individuals were arrested in anti-drug operations that led to the recovery of about 43 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 292,000.
Charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, were filed against the suspects.
Police also recovered six unlicensed firearms from six arrested persons.
The suspects were charged with violating Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Police said 28 firearms were voluntarily surrendered through the Philippine National Police’s Tokhang Kontra Armas Luthang program.
Authorities also conducted five operations against illegal fishing, resulting in the arrest of 17 fishermen.
Police said they recovered fishing boats, paraphernalia, and assorted fish valued at PHP 1.588 million.
In the campaign against illegal logging, police confiscated 797 board feet of lumber.
Police also recovered 128 packs of smuggled cigarettes worth PHP 16,860.
Authorities arrested 13 individuals for illegal gambling.
Police also said three individuals withdrew their support from a communist terrorist group as part of the Capiz PNP’s campaign against insurgency.
