ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Two police stations in Capiz are now implementing the National Police Clearance System (NPCS).
The Tapaz Municipal and Roxas City Police stations have already started the issuance of the police clearance using the new system.
During the soft launching of the system on Aug 22, 2019, Police Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad Jr., Roxas City police chief, said the new service is in response to President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against red tape.
The NPCS is an official document which certifies the existence or non-existence of one’s record in any of the police crime-related databases, he said.
These databases include the Case Information Database Management System (CIDMS), Crime Incident Recording and Analysis System (CIRAS), e-Rogue Gallery System, and Wanted Persons Information Systems or e-Warrant.
Jomuad explained that the NPCS is an in-house web-based Information System that will streamline the process of issuing police clearance nationwide as well as reduce the requirements in securing a police clearance.
He said that the new system of issuing a police clearance can provide more crime-related record checking nationwide using the police’s databases.
In applying for a national police clearance, one must register online through https://pnpclearance.ph, settle payment of P150.00 either through Land Bank of the Philippines, Bancnet, G-Cash or any “Bayad Center” and secure a copy of the payment confirmation slip and electronic official receipt, and finally go to the selected police station on the date of appointment for the photo, fingerprint and signature taking and bring with his or her two valid identification documents (IDs).
“The client will then have to wait for at least 10 minutes for the issuance of his or her national police clearance,” Jomuad said.
On the other hand, Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion-College of Law dean lawyer Alberto Deslate lauded the new PNP service.
He said “securing this police clearance is easier now because I got it in few minutes only.”
Deslate was the first client of the Roxas City Police Station for the new system of issuing the national police clearance. (PIA)
