Capiz mayors’ league president joins LMP meeting in Isabela

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Maayon Mayor Raymond Malapajo, president of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines’ Capiz chapter, attended the LMP National Directorate Meeting in Echague, Isabela, on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Also attending were House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III and LMP national president Mayor Faustino “Inno” Dy V.

Malapajo described the meeting as a productive opportunity to strengthen solidarity among mayors, exchange views on challenges facing local governments and advance a shared vision for responsive governance, stronger local leadership and better public service.

“As local chief executives, we remain committed to working together and bringing the voice of our municipalities closer to national leadership—because stronger LGUs mean stronger communities and a stronger Philippines,” he said.

The LMP represents municipalities nationwide and serves as a forum for addressing issues affecting municipal administration and seeking solutions, as provided under the Local Government Code of 1991.

Malapajo also said one of his campaign promises was to build a modern evacuation center to keep his constituents safe during emergencies.

He said structural framing, roofing and interior finishing work were underway at the center to make it sturdy and comfortable for the community.
