Capiz logs three cases of Delta variant

ROXAS CITY, Capiz— The province has logged three cases of Delta variant and one P3 variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19.
The Capiz Provincial Health Office announced on Monday that the confirmed variant cases were based on the results of Whole Genome Sequencing of the University of the Philippines – Philippine Genome Center (UP-PGC).
The three confirmed local Delta variants include:
-a 25-year-year old male resident of Jamindan, Capiz with no travel history outside the province and has been tagged as recovered;
-a 65-year-old female resident of Roxas City with no travel history outside Capiz who died recently, and
-a 59-year-old female and resident of Roxas City.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old female resident of Tapaz, Capiz was affected with the P3 variant and has also recovered recently.
All four persons have already coordinated with their respective local government units.
The PHO has appealed to the public to strictly followed the minimum health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.
