Capiz honors 48 provincial government retirees

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Forty-eight retired employees of the Capiz provincial government were honored Tuesday, Oct. 6, through the “Salamat Mabuhay 2026” program.
The honorees included 12 employees who retired in 2025 and 36 who retired this year.
The retirees received plaques of appreciation and tokens from the provincial government led by Gov. Fredenil “Oto” Castro.
Among those honored were former Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Office head Alphonsus Tesoro, former Provincial Budget Officer Antonio Arbis and former Mambusao District Hospital chief Dr. Lourdes Martin.
Arbis and Edmund Baldonado of the Provincial Procurement and Management Unit delivered testimonial messages during the program, recalling the importance of serving the government with integrity.
Castro lauded the retirees for their long and dedicated service to the provincial government.
Among those he recognized was Rosita G. Ardeña, who spent 41 years in government service.
Roberta M. Vallar, who served in government for 45 years, was honored posthumously.
Castro thanked the retired employees for their contributions to the provincial government, saying their service would serve as an inspiration to remaining employees.
Also attending the program were Vice Gov. Jaime Magbanua, Provincial Administrator Arthur John Biñas, Provincial Information Office and concurrent Human Resource Management Office head Luvim Amores, provincial board members, department heads, families of the retirees and provincial government employees.
